This is the age of separation,
couples, families, tribes and nations
controlled by divisiveness,
pushed apart and set adrift
by the anonymous violence
of true believers and greed,
the insatiable avarice
and fundamentalist bigotry
that governs governments
and sets armies marching.
The equinox comes soon
with trees budding
and songbirds in the air,
a moment of balance,
of opportunity to choose life
rising now and opening
to the sun.
